Team of the Month
Team of the Month Over the course of 7 weeks, the men’s water polo team has been ranked as the first place team for 6 straight weeks by the Michigan Water Polo Association. “Our season is going well. We have a strong team despite losing a lot of seniors from last year,” says captain Mark Flautner. “Our goal for this season is to win states, which we’re really motivated to do coming from a loss in the state finals last year.” Mark, along with two of his teammates, Liam Macneil and Matthew Christiansen, were named player of the week. In week 4, Mark had 3 goals, 3 assists, 3 steals, and 2 KOD. In week 6, Liam had 16 goals, 7 assists, 12 steals, and 4 field blocks. In week 7, Matthew had 5 assists, 4 steals, and 12 saves with a 92% save percentage. Mark recently reached 100 goals on the season in only 32 games, averaging over 3 goals a game. Congrats to this team and their dominant performances during September!
