Kim Waddell - Legacy 2010

Kim Waddell was a coach for Pioneer High School for twenty-one years.  She coached the junior varsity softball team in 1984 and 1985, and then varsity softball from 1986 until 2004.  Kim earned five consecutive SCC Coach of the Year awards from 1987 to 1991.  She was honored as District Coach of the Year nine times between 1988 and 2003.  In 1989, ’94, ’95, ’96, and 2001 she was named Regional Coach of the Year.  The Ann Arbor News honored Kim with their Coach of the Year Award in both 1989 and 1994.  Kim’s love for and dedication to Pioneer High School athletics and student-athletes are reflected in her words:  “I’d like to think that my coaching style enhanced the lives of hundreds of female athletes who were able to experience increased self-esteem, confidence, and pride.  Many kids advanced their athletic career at the college level.  Personally, my Pioneer experience impacted my life in ways that changed me forever.  It truly is the very best thing that has ever happened to me.”
