She began her career with a big splash, being named the Class A Swimmer of the Year, winning the 200 and 500 Freestyle and the 200 Freestyle Relay at the state meet. She earned All-America recognition, contributing to Pioneer winning the state championship and being power-ranked as the #1 women’s swim team in the nation.

Jennifer continued her championship pace, winning the 200 Free, 500 Free, and the 200 Freestyle Relay once again, but this time breaking the state record in the 500 Free. Once again an All-American, she helped propel the team to finish second in the state, missing first by just two points.

Jennifer capped of her high school swimming career in fall 1987 with victories in the state meet in the 500 Freestyle and the 200 Freestyle medley. As team captain, Jennifer helped guide the team to another state championship. And for the third year in a row, Jennifer earned All-America honors.
