Chuck Lori - Legacy 2006

The late Chuck Lori, a native of Caldwell, Ohio, was a football scholarship athlete at Kent State University, playing defensive line under Head Coach Don James.  His coaching career began at Mansfield (Ohio) High School, after which he served as Defensive Coordinator at Penn High School in Mishawaka, Indiana.

His first head coaching opportunity was at Blackford (Indiana) High School, where he led the team to an Indiana State Championship in 1979.  Following that championship season, Chuck took over the coaching reigns at AA Pioneer, building a program that became the benchmark for success in Michigan high school football.  His won-loss record over eleven seasons was 90-22 and included two State Class Championships-1984 and 1987.

Lori then went on to coach the defensive backfield at Adrian College for two seasons and served as head coach of the Timberwolves, a semi-pro grid team.  He returned to the high school ranks, coaching three years at AA Huron High School, the final one as Offensive Coordinator of a River Rat team that led the area in total offense.  Chuck cared deeply for his players in all aspects of their lives, on and off the field.

His other great love was for his wife Norma, his children and grandchildren.  We miss you Chuck.
