Richard "Rip" Kenney - Legacy 2007
Rip Kinney would do it all again. Hopefully the same way he did it in the first place! Rip graduated from Hillsdale High School in 1952. He worked for thirty-nine years offering his expert advice as a counselor and as a coach in Greenville, Hudson and Hillsdale. We were lucky to have him at Huron High School and Pioneer High School for a good portion of those years. Rip worked as a high school and college Football and Basketball official for twenty-one years. He worked on several MHSAA Committees including being the state Finals Manager for two years – a big job to say the least! He was the Varsity Baseball Coach at Pioneer from 1985 to 1995 but his total coaching career has spanned over five decades. Rip has always enjoyed working with kids – 18,250 days of devotion proves it!
