Erin Wiese Cole - Athletic Alumna 2008

Erin Wiese Cole attended AA Pioneer High School at a time when women’s sports were just taking off – thanks to Title IX.  She earned her first letter before women were even awarded letters.  Her first “letter” was actually a Girl’s Athletic Club letter, which was later traded in for a real varsity “AA.”  Erin was chosen captain seven times for the three-sport she participated in at Pioneer – volleyball, basketball and softball.  She also earned All-conference and MVP awards in all three sports.  Erin went on to play softball at Miami University and continues to be involved in sports to this day.  She coached soccer for the Recreation Department and for the Ann Arbor Soccer Association for eleven years.  She has spent twenty years juggling work, coaching, and volunteering.  Erin is currently active as a team parent with Pioneer’s swim team.  She takes photos and keeps score and instills a love of sports to all the young people she comes in contact with.
