Jim Turner - Volunteer 2008

Jim Turner graduated from Ann Arbor High School in 1958.  He played football and ran track in high school and was elected Class President in his sophomore, junior and senior years.  In the fall of 1970 Jim began his teaching career at his alma mater.

He taught history, government, economics and driver education for 23 years.  While teach at Pioneer he coached cross country and track and field.  Beginning in 1974 Jim recorded statistic at basketball games and continued to do so through the tenure of five coaches.  After his retirement in 1998 Jim continues to volunteer his time at home cross country and track and filed meets.  He enjoys keeping in touch with young people and athletes.  Since sports played such an important role in his life, Jim feels that passing along the values of self-discipline, sportsmanship and character building will help student in becoming mature and productive citizens in our society.
