Dan Stephenson - Athletic Alumni 2008
Dan Stephenson came to Pioneer as a freshman in the fall of 1971 – part of the first class of Pioneer High School (instead of AA High). He swam and played water polo for four years. He captained both teams and was a twelve-time High School All-American in swimming. Dan went on to swim at UCLA, where he again became team captain and an All-American. Dan made the Olympic team, but the United States boycotted and Dan never got to swim. After college, Dan married his wife Tracey, who he met at UCLA, and cam back to Ann Arbor for law school. He has been a lawyer in private practice for 26 years. Dan and Tracey raised their kids, Natalie and Scott, to be Pioneer swimmers and water polo players. Dan has been competing in Masters swimming for over twenty years and has set more than ten World Records in his age group.
