John Turck - Volunteer 2010

John Turck has been affiliated with Pioneer High School Athletics for eighteen years.  As a Pioneer parent and alumnus parent, his activities have included fundraising, uniform management, and game announcing for men’s and women’s soccer, field hockey, football, women’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s basketball, softball, and volleyball.  He continues this work today, with the Pioneer field hockey, men’s soccer, and women’s soccer programs.  John has received honors including The Royal Order of the Purple “P”, and has served as the master of ceremonies for the Pioneer Booster Club Hall of Fame induction banquet twice, and was the master of ceremonies for the dedication of the Hollway Field turf.  John says that his volunteer activities have allowed him “to pay back to Pioneer and Pioneer Athletics a fraction of the bounty it has brought to my children, our family life, and to me personally.  I value my time with all of the coaches, student-athletes, parents, and administrators who share my interest, enthusiasm, and understanding of what high school team athletics bring to the individual student-athlete and the community-at-large.”
