Richard Williams - Athletic Alumni 2009

Rich Williams graduated from Ann Arbor High School in 1955.  He played Football under Hank Fonde and helped lead the team (along with Jack Lousma and Ernie Delco, Jr.) to earn League Champion status and even took the State Title in 1955.   Richard also was an All American football player in 1954, was Captain of the track team in 1954 , and was a wrestler from 1953 to 1955 earning a Championship title in 1954.  Richard earned nine letters in his three years at Ann Arbor High School and achieved All-State honors in both football and wrestling.  Richard served on the Senior Executive Board during his senior year. He joined the United States Marine Corp where he continued wrestling and took first place in an AAU Wrestling meet. He took second place in an All-Marine meet. After completing his military time, Rich went on to play football at the University of Wyoming.  A friend stated "Richard is a model for every future Pioneer.  He has accomplished humility and decency and a life well lived."
