Darcy Thorpe Knoll - Athletic Alumna 2011

Darcy Thorpe Knoll graduated from Pioneer High School in 1986.  She played field hockey and softball for three years, and was captain and MVP in both sports.  She received awards in field hockey and softball including All-State, All-Region, All-Area, All-District, and Best Defensive Player.  Darcy attended Central Michigan University on an athletic scholarship where she played field hockey for four years.  Since graduating from college, Darcy has coached numerous sports at all age levels, has taught physical education in the Ann Arbor Public Schools, and worked as a volunteer with student athletes.  She has also coached both field hockey and softball for Pioneer for ten years.  Darcy says that Pioneer athletics has taught her numerous life-long skills, hard work, dedication, and commitment.  “My coaches at Pioneer influenced me not only as a player, but also later as a coach.”
