Charmaine Byer Sizemore - Athletic Alumna 2011

Charmaine Byer Sizemore graduated from Pioneer High School in 1984.  She was a member and captain of the track and field team.  Charmaine received All-State and All-American honors in high school before graduating and moving on to participate in track and field at Eastern Kentucky University from 1984 to 1988.   Charmaine was team captain at Eastern Kentucky where she set a school record in the 400 meters and was the Ohio Valley Conference Champion in the same event.  Eastern Kentucky won the Team Indoor Ohio Valley Conference Championship from 1984 to 1988, where Charmaine was a member of their World Record-setting shuttle hurdle team.  She also advanced to the U.S.A. Nationals as a member of the 4 x 800 meter relay.  Charmaine says, “Being involved in track and field at Pioneer taught me the value of hard work and extra effort.  Success at Pioneer provided me with many wonderful experiences and a chance to further my education.”
