Sue Kessler LeClair - Athletic Alumna 2003
Sue LeClair is a golfing legend in the state of Michigan. While no accounting of her awards and achievements would be complete, here is a feeble attempt:
Ann Arbor Women's City Tournament: 1946 Runner-up (age 14)
Four championships, 1947-1951
Detroit Women's District Golf Association: since 1948
- Stroke play champion 13 times
- Senior division champion 2 times
- Match play champion 2 times
Michigan Amateur Champion -1962 and 1969
Michigan Senior Women's Golf Association champion 3 times
Michigan Amateur Sports Hall of Fame (May 1986)
University of Michigan women's golf coach, 1982-1993
Lest we forget... Sue Kessler LeClair is a 1950 graduate of Ann Arbor High School. (If only we'd had a women's golf team then!)
