Coach Lon grew up in Union Lake, MI and attended Walled Lake Central high school as a National Honor Society student and shortshop on the varsity baseball team. He graduated from the University of Michigan with bachelor and master degrees in Statistics, and an MBA from Cleary. He worked for R.L. Polk for 2 years, then for Ann Arbor’s Parke-Davis pharmaceutical research (which became Pfizer) for almost 25 years as a nonclinical statistician. In 2012 Lon founded Arbor Analytics, a statistical consulting company.
Lon met Natalie playing co-rec softball at Michigan, and they have been married since 1984. They have 2 children, Clarice (PWICE’s first goalie, two-time first team All State) and Trevor (3 sport athlete at Pioneer). The kids are both married, and Clarice has a 2 year old daughter. Lon started playing organized hockey the first year Lakeland Arena in Waterford opened, and ended his career there as the leading scorer for the Junior C state champions in 1980. Since then Lon ran the X-Men/Wolverine Brewing adult hockey team at Vets Arena for almost 30 years, and plays year round in the Over 40 and 50 leagues in Chelsea. Along with Steve and Jane Chronis, Lon and Nat started PWICE in 2004, and Lon has coached every season since.
