Allison Boone.


Varsity Head Coach

Biography:

Coach Allison is passionate about the game of volleyball and is committed to helping young women athletes understand the importance of good leadership, both on and off the court! Allison was a successful high school and Junior Olympic athlete from Kalamazoo, MI, and earned an athletic scholarship to attend Spring Arbor University. 

As a collegiate player, Allison was a four-year starter, beginning as a middle blocker then transitioning to opposite hitter, where she led the team in blocks and earned the Offensive Player of the Year award. Allison received Academic All-American honors for three consecutive years and was voted team captain during her final season. She has gone on to coach middle school, JV, and Varsity athletes throughout southeast Michigan.

Allison is currently completing her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership at Eastern Michigan University and works as a Facilitator for Life Labs Learning. She previously served as a Learning Specialist and Program Manager within the University of Michigan's Department of Athletics.  

Lauren Huissen.


Assistant Coach

Biography:

Coach Lauren is originally from the west side of Michigan. She moved to Ann Arbor for nursing school and joined the Pioneers in 2018 as the school nurse and assistant volleyball coach. She loves the fast-paced nature of volleyball and the teamwork and communication it requires to be successful! When she's not in the clinic or on the volleyball court, you can find her spending time with family and friends, knitting, volunteering with Young Life, and attending Michigan sporting events.

Brielle Brown.


Assistant Coach

Biography:

Coach Brielle is an Ann Arbor native, and a graduate of Pioneer High School (2016). She brings an extensive knowledge and passion for the game of volleyball. Her goals are to help inspire young women to find their love for the game as she does. Brielle was a successful high school, club and Junior Olympic athlete, earning the all-conference sportsmanship award and being named MVP her senior season.

As a MIAA collegiate athlete at Albion College (Finance, 2019), Brielle was a four-year varsity player, starting as a defensive specialist and transitioned to an outside hitter. Brielle was often utilized for her serve which has been clocked at over 90mph.  She achieved distinction on the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Academic Honor Roll all four years, something she takes great pride in and hopes all of the young women in the program take seriously - maintaining a stellar GPA and excelling on the court!

Coach Brielle is currently applying to physician assistant school in 2023.  She looks forward to working closely with each of the student athletes in the Pioneer Volleyball program, helping them work hard, develop their skills and attain their goals on and off the court.
