Congrats go out to the Pioneer Girls Golf team. In addition to winning both the Regular Season and Post Season SEC Championships and finishing 10th overall in the State Finals, multiple players were given several Post Season Awards: Amaya Melendez was named to the SEC All Conference Team, State Finals All Tournament Team and made the Division 1 All State team for the 4th straight year. In addition to Amaya, also named to the All SEC Conference team were Mackenzie Rooney, Jillian Giordano and Alex Ellender. Jillian Giordano was named to the Division 1 Academic All State Team. Finally, the Pioneers as a team were named to the Division 1 Team Academic All State. Congrats on a great season and all the awards.

On Friday the girls golf team competed in the MHSAA State Finals at MSU Forest Akers, finishing 10th, capping off a good season. The team was led by senior Amaya Melendez, shooting a 76. Amaya celebrated a top 10 finish, also making the All Tournament Team. Also contributing were Senior Jillian Giordano, Sophomore Mackenzie Rooney, Junior Hayley Marchand and Freshman Alex Ellender. Pioneer finished off the season 13-0 SEC Conference regular season, Champion of Post Season SEC Championship and in the Top 10 for the third straight season in the MHSAA State Finals. Congrats Seniors Amaya and Jillian.

The Pioneer Girls Golf team finished 3rd in the MHSAA Region 2 Championship Wednesday at Lake Forest Golf Club To qualify for State Championship Finals next Friday October 16 At the MSU Forest Akers East GC. Pioneer was led by Amaya Melendez, Jillian Giordano, Mackenzie Rooney, Hayley Marchand and Alex Ellender.

Thursday the Pioneer Girls Golf Team backed up their 13-0 regular season, by winning the SEC Postseason Conference Championship. Led by Seniors Amaya Melendez and Jillian Giordano, Pioneer finished first ahead of Skyline. Following the championship, Amaya Melendez, Mackenzie Rooney, Jillian Giordano and Alex Ellender we’re named to the All SEC Conference Team. Pioneer will next compete Wednesday October 7th in the MHSAA Division 1 Region 2 Regionals at Lake Forest Golf Club.

Monday the Girls Golf Team beat Dexter, Pinckney and Monroe to finish the SEC regular season. The three wins today gave the Pioneers 13 wins and 0 losses In the conference regular season. Pioneer was led by Mackenzie Rooney, Amaya Melendez, Alysa Zhu and Jillian Giordano. Pioneer will next play Wednesday at Barton Hills in the Ann Arbor High School Championship.

The girls golf team capped off a busy week with a win at the Rustic Glen Invitational Friday. Pioneer shot a 18 hole score of 342. Skyline was 2nd with a score of 367. Contributing to The Pioneer win was Senior Amaya Melendez, Sophomore Mackenzie Rooney, Senior Jillian Giordano, Freshman Alex Ellender and Junior Hayley Marchand. The Girls team returns to action Monday for an SEC match at Monroe vs Monroe, Pinckney and Dexter.

Today at Lake Forest GC, the Pioneer Girls Golf had there best 9 hole round of the season, leading to big wins over Skyline, Tecumseh and Adrian. Pioneer moves to 10 and 0 in the SEC Conference. Pioneer was led by Amaya Melendez and Mackenzie Rooney with even par 36’s. Also contributing to the wins were Jillian Giordano, Hayley Marchand and Alex Ellender

Girls golf shot it’s best 9 hole round of the year, beating Ypsilanti Lincoln Wednesday at Lake Forest GC. Pioneer was lead by Amaya Melendez, even par 36. Freshman Alex Ellender shot a career best 41, Junior Haley Marchand shot a career best 43 and Sophomore Mackenzie Rooney also shot 43. Pioneer Girls Golf is now 5 wins and 0 losses in the SEC Conference. Pioneer continues the season Saturday at the Northville Invitational.

The Pioneer Girls Golf Team got off to a good start to the 2020 golf season Wednesday at the Marion Invite at Huron Meadows Golf Club. Pioneer finished 5th out of 18 teams in a very strong field. Senior Amaya Melendez finished 5th individuallly with score of 76. Also competing were Senior Jillian Giordano, sophomore Mackenzie Rooney and Freshman Alex Ellender. Pioneer will compete again Friday at the Hartland Invite.
